Anubhav Sinha, the director of the film Ra One starring Shah Rukh Khan, recently shared his thoughts on the experience of making the movie and the reaction to its box office performance.

While the film did not do as well as expected, Sinha had initially refused to accept the label of "flop" that many had applied to it.

That changed when he heard Khan himself refer to Ra One as a flop on TV. "My heart was broken," Sinha recalled. "I thought to myself, 'How could Shah Rukh say this?'"

Sinha still recognizes the film's relative success, earning Rs 135 crore in India alone. "It didn’t perform as well as we’d have liked, but it still did fine," he said.

"He was hurt, that’s probably why he said what he said. I was hurt by what he said, but I was young then." - Anubhav Sinha says on why Shah Rukh Khan called Ra One a flop.

Anubhav Sinha says, "We’re still talking about the film, so it definitely wasn’t a flop. Shah Rukh had given the film his all."

Ra. One, released on 2011, was the dream superhero action film of SRK. While the visual effects of the movie were considered ground-breaking, the film performed below expectations.
