Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are close friends and have been so for decades.

They shared a joint bank account during the 1980s to help each other with their auditions and acting careers.

The joint bank account was created because they needed the money for auditions.

The purpose of the account was to help and support each other. They were able to use the money to go to auditions in New York and play video games.

Variety reports that Damon stated, "It was unusual, but we needed the money for auditions."

"We were going to help each other and be there for each other. It was like, 'You’re not going to be alone. I’m not going to be alone." said Affleck.
