Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United have officially announced that both parties have mutually agreed to end the contract early.

The decision comes after Ronaldo's bombshell interview with TalkTV's Piers Morgan where he lashed out at Man United and club's manager Erik Ten Hag.

Ronaldo told Piers that he felt betrayed by Man United and was disrespected by the newly-appointed manager Erik Ten Hag.

The decision to end the contract early does not come as a surprise as many believed that Cristiano was on his way out from Man United after that shocking interview.

Man United's official statement reads: "Cristiano Ronaldo is set to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect."

Meanwhile Cristiano also issued an statement that read:  "Following discussion with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to end our contract early."
