Godzilla Minus One has officially surpassed Pokemon The Movie 2000 in the US box office, making it the third-highest-grossing Japanese film in the country.
The film achieved this milestone by grossing a strong $832k on its 5th Friday across just 1,180 theaters.
-12.6% drop from the previous Friday, reaching a cumulative total of $44.2 million in the US.
The movie seems to have strong legs, and projections suggest it might earn between $2 million to $3 million during its fifth 3-day weekend
and potentially achieve $2.5 million to $3.5 million over the New Year's 4-day holiday looking at the appeal of the Godzilla franchise in the United States.
