Paramount+ has announced a new original series to the Star Trek universe called Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
The official Twitter account @StarTrekOnPPlus tweeted, "Star Trek: #StarfleetAcademy is coming to @ParamountPlus !.."
"... the series will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy." The tweet said.
Paramount+ also announced that Alex Kurtzman will serve as an executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Noga Landau.
The series is likely set in the Discovery era of Star Trek and will begin production somewhere next year in 2024.
Fans of the Star Trek franchise are also anticipating for a spin-off show titled Star Trek: Legacy, which might
showcase The Next Generation crew's newly revealed progeny as well as legacy characters like Seven of Nine and Raffi.
