Russell Mulcahy's directorial, Teen Wolf: The Movie, premiers on Paramount+ on 26 Jan. Here are early critics' reviews on the return of the pack.
The A.V. Club's Ray Greene writes that "Teen Wolf: The Movie is many things, but despite veteran director Russell Mulcahy’s brisk professionalism, a movie is not one of them."
Screen Rant's Molly Freeman says, "Teen Wolf: The Movie tries to capture the magic of the original show, but though many original cast members returned, it falls short of the mark."
"As fun as any Teen Wolf outing is going to be, by sheer dint of being a Teen Wolf outing, Teen Wolf: The Movie is disappointing", Paste Magazine's Alexis Gunderson says in their review.
EJ Moreno of Flickering Myth commented that the movie had the feeling of a long, drawn-out episode of the show, and despite a pleasing offering of fan service, was lacking in other areas.
It's no surprise that Tyler Posey and Holland Roden act their heart out on what might be their best work in Teen Wolf so far, according to TV Guide's Maggie Fremont, their performances are certainly noteworthy.
According to Decider, "If you love Teen Wolf to the point that you’d do anything to spend a few more hours in Beacon Hills, go ahead and give it a stream."
