She has been spying her for a while from the balcony as they live across each other, watching the men have their steamy moments with her. Things take an interesting turn when one of her client shows up and she opens the door.

‘Lady Voyeur’ (Olhar Indiscreto) Review

‘Lady Voyeur’, released on 1st of Januray 2023 on Netflix, is a limited 10 episode Brazilian series created by Marcela Citterio and directed by Luciana Oliveira, Fabrizia Pinto, and Laticia Veiga.

It stars Debora Nascimento, Emanuelle Araujo, Nikolas Antunes, Angelo Rodriguez, Debora Duarte, and Tania Alves.

The show is a steamy erotic thriller with lots of body showing, sex scenes, foreplay, and murders in between. The show is aimed at a mature audience, and it will find its audience regardless of what critics say about it.

Miranda, played by Debora Nascimento, is a talented hacker who has a habit of spying on her sex-worker neighbour Cleo when she is with her clients. There is one man of interest whose encounter with Cleo she enjoys watching through her camera lens the most. Even she fantasizes about him.

Cleo asks her to look after her dog while she goes on a weekend trip, giving her the keys to the apartment so she can give the dog (Barbie) a homey feel. She goes to her apartment and looks around at the various items, dresses, and so on, trying her dresses and jewelry as well.

Not what she expected, but when the man of her dreams, Fernando, appears, she can’t help but succumb to her desires. That is when things take an unexpected turn as she finds herself in a dangerous situation.

There are many twists and turns as Miranda becomes involved in working with a powerful businessman, Heitor, whose family has a lot going on. As she digs deeper into computer files, she discovers even more perplexing secrets and mysteries.

With each episode, new accounts of murder, betrayal, deception, and infidelity emerge. And plenty of steamy scenes in between.

Final Thoughts on ‘Lady Voyeur’

Just like ‘Dark Desire’ on Netflix, ‘Lady Voyeur’ gets stretched to 10 episodes, each ranging from a good 35-40 minute long duration, leaving its audience perplexed with its story telling and character development.

While Miranda remains a likeable character for the majority of the show, every other character will irritate you to no end. The show fails to engage you despite the creators’ best efforts to make it difficult to guess the thrills and twists. Not talking about the steamy scenes, here.

The show is going to find its audience, Netflix knows that. While the series starts with a great concept, but it falters very easily afterwards. Its picks some pace from sixth episode but by then you have already had enough of the meaningless drama going on.

If you want an actual thriller on Netflix, skip it; if you want a show with a lot of steamy erotic scenes, watch ‘Lady Voyeur’.
