Masterclass in Persuasion: How Ancelotti Convinced Real Madrid to Appoint Him as Manager

Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as the head coach of Real Madrid, following the departure of Zinedine Zidane in the summer of 2021. Ancelotti had previously coached Real Madrid between 2013 and 2015, leading them to their historic 10th European title in his first tenure in charge.

His second returning to Coach’s job at Real Madrid also saw great success in 21/22 season as Real Madrid won their 14th Champions League title and also winning the domestic cup.

In a newly released Apple TV+ documentary on Real Madrid called “Real Madrid: Until the End“, Ancelotti revealed the circumstances surrounding his return to the club.

“I called Real Madrid at the end of the season, I was coaching Everton. I asked if they have any players they didn’t want. Then I realised they were looking for a coach, I said ‘Real Madrid always need the best’ they asked who is that? I said ‘did you forget about 2014’.”
