Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer, the Ayan Mukerji directorial recent Bollywood big-budgeted release “Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva” has received an earth-shattering response at the Indian Box-Office. The release of this much-anticipated movie has lived up to the expectations of industry unlike most of the recent other Bollywood biggies like Shamshera, Laal Singh Chaddha and Bachchan Pandey to name a few.
The film’s response has brought back smiles on the face of Bollywood movies exhibitors and distributors. The success of Brahmastra is being seen as a very welcoming sign among Hindi film industrywell-wishers.
The film has opened with great collections at both Indian and international markets. The movie has topped in foreign markets of Australia and New Zealand with great opening in American cinemas as well.
Brahmastra had the biggest opening for a Bollywood release in North America making over 36 crores so far.
The film is doing exceptionally well in circuits where Bollywood movies usually struggles for example in Telugu states. The presence of Nagarjuna is also helping in increased footfalls in South India.
Besides in Telugu states, the film had a grand opening weekend in Kannada market with Mysore alone producing a 3.8 crore day one collection; biggest single day collection for a Bollywood flick in the state.
The film’s opening day collection in Tamil Nadu also broke the first day collection record of any Bollywood movie ever released there.
Globally, the film collection in the opening weekend are fourth highest ever among Bollywood releases.
With all these fabulous collection everywhere, the movie also becomes the biggest opener for both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Brahmastra had a 108 crore opening with its Hindi version thus entering in Bollywood’s 100 crore club in just 3 days.
The film is expected to continue its dream run at the box-office for at least the next three weeks before the next Bollywood biggie “Vikram Vedha” releases on 30th September.
