Argentina Not in Messi’s Favorites to Win the Qatar World Cup 2022

Lionel Messi, PSG player and Argentina’s captain in Qatar World Cup 2022, has spoken about his favorites for the World Cup title.

According to a report from L’Equipe, Messi has picked Brazil, France, and team England as the strongest continder for the football World Cup 2022 to be played in Qatar from Sunday 20th November 2022.

Messi believes that these three teams, Brazil, France and England, are “above the rest” among all other World Cup participating teams.

When asked about the chances of Argentina in the World Cup title quest, Messi said that, “Argentina are a very good side that is very motivated, but we have to take it little by little.”

Argentina are coming to the World Cup as one of the favorites even if Messi is trying be modest on his own team. They have not lost a international game since July 2019 including the winning of Copa America title in 2021.

Argentina have last won the football’s greatest prize back in 1986 when the great Maradona led the team to glory. Argentinian fans are expecting Lionel Messi to have a repeat of that and bring the World Cup trophy to Argentina.

Argentina will kick-start their World Cup journey on 22nd November against Saudi Arabia and then playing Mexico on 26th of November before concluding their group matches vs against Poland on 30th November.

Argentina are expected to top Group C. This will probably be Lionel Messi’s last World Cup of his career.
