Benzema’s loyalty to Real Madrid questioned amid lacklustre performances

Spanish media has reported that Real Madrid and their manager, Carlo Ancelotti, are reportedly baffled with Karim Benzema’s lack of interest in recent matches and training sessions. According to reports from media outlet Diario AS and Relevo, there is a growing feeling that Benzema’s mind is elsewhere, possibly due to an offer from Saudi Arabia that he has been considering.

Benzema had apparently sealed a renewal with Real Madrid in principle before the World Cup, but the new offer from Saudi Arabia has made him hesitate more and more. This has sparked a debate within Real Madrid about whether they should sign a new striker in the summer or not.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid fans on Twitter have started to remind everyone of the loyalty of Benzema towards Real Madrid claiming that if he ever wanted a huge money deal over his passion for Real Madrid, he would have gone to Manchester United in 2009, or struck a deal with Arsenal in 2015, or PSG in 2018 when these big European clubs came with big money pakages.

Despite these concerns, Ancelotti believes that Benzema and Álvaro Rodríguez could play together in a 4-4-2 formation. According to the Real Madrid manager, Benzema is used to playing in an intermediate position, not always as the only striker, so this could be a possible alternative.

However, there is growing concerns at Real Madrid regarding Benzema’s physical problems, injuries, and age after his historic last year’s performance where Benzema won the Ballon d’Or.

The club is looking at options to reopen talks of signing a striker in the summer, but they do not find any obstacle in renewing Benzema’s contract. The priority is always to keep him until Endrick arrives, hoping that the Frenchman will regain his impressive level as he was last season.

When asked if Madrid struggles against a low block, Ancelotti admitted that they suffer a little, but Benzema helps them improve their attacking game, and with him, they are the team with the most goals in the league.

Overall, it remains to be seen what will happen with Benzema and Real Madrid in the coming weeks and months. Fans will be hoping that he can get back to his best form and help the team defend Champions League and La Liga.
