‘Needed another VAR for the VAR today,’ Al Nassr Coach

Al Hilal beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr 3-0 in an intense top-of-the table clash in Saudi Professional League on Friday. The game saw many controversial decisions with Ronaldo apparently signalling his displeasure over them multiple times through out the game.

Al Nassr Manager has blasted VAR in his post-match presser for favoring Saudi champions Al Hilal. The manager stated that, “The game had several moments where the referee ought to have gone to the VAR. This is strance.”

“When a ball touched Hilal player’s hand and went to the goalkeeper, no one spoke about it, not even the referee and the VAR,” he added.

Luis Castro also discussed the offside call that saw Cristiano’s equalizer turned down by VAR after lengthy checks.

Talking about the VAR’s decisions apparently favoring Al Hilal on multiple occasions, Castro said, “We needed another VAR room today, to trace the VAR of the game!”

Al Nassr Manager Luis Castro Comments in Press

Luis Castro, not one to shy away from making a statement, was literally seen showing the referee his phone in protest after Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal was disallowed.

According to Castro, the injustices didn’t end with Ronaldo’s disallowed goal. The Al Nassr coach claimed that two penalties were not given to his team.

Despite the heated debates and disputed calls, Al Hilal emerged victorious, securing a massive win against Al Nassr. The victory sees Al Hilal seven points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League.
