La Liga President Javier Tebas has expressed his concern regarding the current state of the VAR in football. In a recent interview, Tebas stated, “The VAR needs to be turned around. We have to see if the people who are there are the right ones or if it should be independent. It’s not working. There is an incredible unease in all the teams. We have to look for solutions.”
In addition to his concerns about the VAR system, Tebas also spoke about the ‘Negreira case’. He expressed uncertainty about whether the position taken by the President of Barcelona is the right one and feels ashamed of the current institutional crisis.
In the latest interview with Movistar, Tebas has said, “I don’t know if the position taken by the president of Barcelona is the right one. I don’t remember a time of such institutional crisis. I feel ashamed. For now, there’s still no explanation.”
Tebas believes that not only is Barcelona’s reputation at risk but also that of the La Liga as a whole, “Not only is Barcelona’s reputation at risk, but also that of the competition.”
Tebas also stated that he would like to see Mbappé playing in the league. However, he believes that the only club in La Liga that can afford to buy him is Real Madrid, “The only club in La Liga that can buy Mbappé is Real Madrid. I would like him to play in La Liga.”
