Rafael Leão’s Chaotic Cameo: Portugal Dominates Luxembourg in Euro 2024 Qualifiers

Rafael Leo’s 10-minute introduction against Luxembourg in Portugal’s Euro 2024 qualifier was wild.

The AC Milan striker came on in the 75th minute, two minutes later assisted Otavio’s goal, missed a penalty in the 85th minute, then scored Portugal’s sixth goal in the 88th minute.

Leo’s stats were as impressive, boasting 100% shot accuracy, 100% duels won, and 100% take-on accuracy. Portugal’s 6-0 win, with 14 shots and 8 on target, keeps them undefeated in European Qualification games, with no goals conceded.

Even though he played just 15 minutes, Leo had a big contribution to the match, which Portugal won 6-0. He assisted Otavio’s goal two minutes after being introduced and then scored Portugal’s sixth goal in the 88th minute.

But, Leo’s performance had its ups and downs. He missed a penalty in the 85th minute that would have helped him get his first hat-trick for his national team.

The result also signified a successful debut for new Portugal coach Roberto Martinez. In the team’s two European Qualification games in 2023, 10 goals were scored and none were conceded, resulting in a great start to the qualification campaign.
