We have compiled a list of top teams that are everyone’s favourite, analysing their strength and weaknesses in detail.

Read on to know which teams are best equipped to win this year’s ICC Men’s T20 cricket World Cup 2022 that is being played in Australia.

1. England

England is top on our list simply because they are one the strongest unit in T20 cricket currently. They have quality players best suited for the shortest format of the game.

They have explosive batters in literally every position. One of their biggest strength is that they have hard-hitters in lower batting numbers. They bat very deep. They have some finest all-rounders in whole world of cricket.

Their top order has Jos Buttler who is one of the best batter in limited overs cricket in the whole world. Besides that, Jos is one of the best keepers as well. He is England team’s captain for the campaign.

In recently concluded t20i series vs Australia, Jos Buttler made 68 (32), 17 (13) and 65* (41) with a 170 strike rate winning the Man of the Series award and winning the series 2-0. He is going to be key for England as usual.

Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, Alex Hales, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone make England one of the best batting line-up in the tournament.

Then they have Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, David Willey, Chris Woakes who can all provide batting depth in lower order.

Mark Wood when fully fit is one of the fastest bowler in the world currently. In recently concluded series with Pakistan and Australia, Mark Wood was seen winning matches for England single-handily. His fitness issues are still a concern though.

Reece Topley has been in excelent form recently. Chris Woakes is going to love bowling at these Australian pitches which always got something for the bowlers. Same Curran is probably going to be the seamer in the line-up with the duty of bowling a few overs in death overs.

The only concern for captain Jos Buttler currently is the form of the main spinner Adil Rashid as he has failed to take wickets in the middle overs for England in recent matches.

2. Australia

Australia are the current T20 champions. They won the 2021 T20 World Cup in a dominating fashion. They are playing in their home soil with the support of home crowd. This makes them second favorite to win the title in our list.

The confidence of Australian team is high as they won the last T20 World Cup not long ago. They are much improved side from last year as well.

The bowling attack consists of Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins who are all capable of winning games for Australia on their own. This trio is arguably the most feared bowling trio in world of cricket in current times for obvious reasons.

The skill-set of bowling attack with the new ball, in middle overs and death bowling experience makes the trio the biggest strength for Australia. They got Stoinis, Marsh and Green in support as Zampa and Maxwell will provide the spin bowling options.

Kane Richardson and Ellis are in great form and are quality back-up options when needed.

Australia have strengthened their big hitting powers with the inclusion of Tim David. The team already has some big hitters like Maxwell, Stoinis and Marsh in key positions.

Overall, the team looks balanced and full of immense talent and quality in all departments. The only concern for Australia is the form of Maxwell and the headache of whether to play Steve Smith or not.

3. India

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav, that is arguably the best top 4 batting in the competition.

The absence of Jasprith Bumrah is a big miss for team India. Their bowling lacks the raw pace unlike other top teams.

Despite theses negatives, one can not rule out them as favorite to win their second t20 title. They know how to win games. The players are vastly experienced. Rohit Sharma as the captain has won multiple titles for Mumbai Indians in IPL.

Besides Bumrah, Indian team also lost Deepak Chahar through injury as well. They have replaced him with Mohammed Shami and this is expected to turn out to be a positive decision for them.

Shami has got the pace to bowl above 140 kph consistently. He can swing the bowl both ways and has a deadly yorker in his skill set.

In batting department, SKY has been in phenomenal form in this year. Virat Kohli is back among runs after a fine outing in recently concluded Asia Cup.

KL Rahul has been under scrutiny for his low-scoring rate but he is one of the key player in that top order mainly due to his ability to bat long and anchor the inning.

In bowling department, the form of Bhuvenshwar Kumar has been shaky. Arshdeep Singh lacks the experience of big games. Therefore, the presence of Mohammed Shami is going to be a huge boost for team India because of his experience and leadership role in the bowling attack.

The team India is also do not have Ravindra Jadeja at their disposal as he is out due to injury issues as well. Axar Patel has done a fine job so far with both the ball and bat.

Chahal is the going to play as the main leg-spin option. Ashwin is also in the squad and can be a key contributor in Australian conditions with long boundaries.

Despite the fact that Indian bowling attack does not look scary, their batting line-up is quite capable of dominating the game on their own.

The presence of hard-hitting, medium pace, Hardik Pandya is a big positive for both the bowling and batting department. He has shaped himself into one of the key batter in the team and has the ability to finish off game when required.

India edges teams like Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka as our third favorite team to win the 2022 cricket T20 World Cup.
