According to Deadline, David Leitch, the director of Deadpool, Bullet Train, John Wick, and Fast And The Furious, is producing the upcoming action-thriller movie "Ballerina Overdrive".
The action drama will have Lana Condor, Yara Shahidi, Millicent Simmonds, Lena Headey, Isabela Merced & Iris Apatow in lead roles.
Directed by Vicky Jewson, the movie follows a group of ballerinas who must fight for survival after their bus breaks down on the way to a dance competition.
Filming for Ballerina Overdrive is set to begin in Serbia during the second quarter of 2023.
The film, written by Kate Freund (Afterlife) and produced by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Annie Marter of 87North,
features stunt design by Heidi Moneymaker and Renae Moneymaker (known for their work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3).
Jenny Jue (Okja) will be in charge of casting. 87North, a production and action design company, has a proven track record with over $2.5 billion in box office revenue from their character-driven action films.
They are currently in production on "The Fall Guy," which stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, among others, and is set for release in 2024.
In short, we can expect some high octane action sequences from the movie 'Ballerina Overdrive'. The movie is expected to hit theaters in late 2024 or early 2025, but nothing is confirmed yet.
