Elon Musk has created an unusual Guinness World Record after suffering the largest loss of personal fortune in history. The record was confirmed by Guinness World Records on Friday.

According to Forbes reports, Elon Musk lost an estimated $182 billion in his fortune since November of 2021. Other sources claim the loss to be in excess of $200 billion.

The previous highest loss of fortune recorded was in 2000 when tech investor from Japan, Masayoshi Son lost $58.6 billion.

According to Forbes data, Elon Musk's net worth was $320 billion in November 2021 which now has dropped to a total of $137 billion in January 2023.

Forbes has cited that Elon Musk's acquisition of the social media platform, Twitter, for a whopping $44 billion played a major part in the high-scale drop in Musk's net worth. (image credit - Forbes)
