Shah Rukh Khan Creates Box Office History With Spy Thriller 'Pathaan' - Bollywood is Buzzing!

Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is back with a bang, as his high-octane spy thriller Pathaan is breaking records at the box office since its release on 25th Jan.

After a 4 years long break from the big screen, SRK's comeback has given Bollywood its biggest joy in a long time.

In just 3 days, the movie has raked up 313 crore ($39M) worldwide; biggest opening weekend of any Bollywood title ever with Saturday and Sunday still to go!

The movie is expected to cross 500 crores worldwide in opening weekend come Sunday and join the ranks of recent Indian blockbusters RRR and KGF2.

Joining SRK in the action entertainer are Deepika Padukone and John Abraham with an extended cameo from Salman Khan.

Pathaan created history on its opening day becoming the biggest Day 1 earner for Hindi language movie at Indian box office with 57 crore ($7m).

On its second day on Indian Republic Day, a public holiday, the movie became the first Hindi film ever to cross 70 crore net ($8.6m) in India. The overall worldwide gross rose to 219.6 crore ($27m).

The movie added 39.25 crore net to its Indian box office total on Friday and 45 crore gross ($5.6m) from overseas taking its 3 days total to a historic 313 crore worldwide gross. 

Early estimates for Saturday have indicated that Pathaan is eyeing another day of 100+ crore gross worldwide. Sunday is expected to be even bigger as film has received a positive word of mouth everywhere.
