Zidane on Playing with Ballon d'Or Winner Benzema

ZINEDINE ZIDANE handed Karim Benzema the Ballon d'Or 2022 trophy last night in a star studded gala in Paris.

After the Ballon d'Or ceremony Zidane spoke to L’Équipe about his time on coaching Benzema during when he was manager of Real Madrid.

"There were times when we thought we would have liked to play together." Zidane told L’Équipe.

Zidane stated that, "I would have made him (Benzema) score a lot of goals, yes, really (smile).

Zidane praised Benzema saying, "His controls in motion are superb. It’s beautiful to see when you’re three metres away from him."

“When I became Benzema's coach (at Real Madrid), it was fantastic to be on the pitch with him" Zidane continued.
